It takes a lot to kill a Sabnautica Reaper Leviathan. In the game running away from and killing Reaper Leaviathan with a Repulsion Cannon and a Stasis Rifle are key. But that’s not all as there are lot of equipment that a player should know the techniques of. In This article we will explain Subnautica How to Find & Kill Reaper Leviathans.

Bare Knuckle Fighting

If you are going for a bare-knuckle fight with the monster then you are sure to be killed by the reaper or might run out of oxygen even if you’ve got a reinforced dive suit or an upgraded oxygen tank.

Down To Business

It is better to equip with the Stasis Rifle or Repulsion Cannon and/or a knife. The reason being the Stasis Rifle freezes objects in a bubble that forms from the projectile launched from the rifle itself and this bubble varies in size the more you hold in the fire button. Meaning when you hold it in for a maximum of 5 seconds, it will release a bigger bubble that will freeze the leviathan once it touches it and last for about 30 seconds before it shrinks and fades.

With the Repulsion Cannon, you can launch a blunt energetic force towards anything at a 10-meter point in front of you which comes very handy in an event when the reaper escapes the stasis bubble. You can fire the Repulsion Cannon at it and it will shock the creature for about 5 seconds, and gives you enough time to fire the stasis rifle at it again and freeze it where you can keep on slicing at the reaper with your knife until it’s dead.

Swinging Seamoth

Here you bring a Seamoth to a submersible fight. When you face a Reaper in your Seamoth. Your first clue is to escape instantly and pray it doesn’t chase after you and grab your Seamoth. The Hull Upgrade for your Seamoth upsurges its resistance to damage all around which is important if you want your Seamoth to last longer if it is grabbed multiple times by a Reaper.

The Perimeter Defense System upgrade produces a shock wave of electricity from Seamoth after you activate the system by selecting it and pressing it, which releases a larger shock wave by holding in the fire button. It is effective to shock the reaper and make it hit back for a short time span before the reaper eventually come back for more. Use Gas Pods from the Gasopods to slay the reaper by dropping them in front of it and letting them explode.

Hands-Free

Here you use Prawn Suit to kill a Reaper. The same concept applies to the Prawn Suit with the Hull Upgrades and Torpedoes. But with the Prawn Suit, you have exclusive upgrades like the Drill Arm and the Grappling Arm.

The Grappling arm shoots a grapple that pulls the Prawn Suit onto the grappling point. Which can be used to grapple onto the Reaper while it moves, punch it to death, or die trying and go out as a hardcore Reaper grapple.

However, the Prawn Suit doesn’t have the Alterra-Brand Perimeter Defense System compatibility. So you will really just have to wait until the Reaper lets go of your Prawn Suit and immediately fix it. Or fight it until your suit breaks. As for the Cyclops, ramming into it at full speed is good and will do damage to the Reaper. It also damages the Cyclops in the process, so only do this if you have the Cyclops Shield Generator upgrade and want to fully disrespect the Reaper.
